Mind Matters

Mind Matters is a proactive, student-centered mental health and emotional literacy program for middle school students. Designed to meet the unique challenges of adolescence, the program focuses on understanding emotions, managing stress, building resilience, fostering empathy, and developing healthy communication and help-seeking behaviors. Through group discussions, real-world case studies, reflective journaling, and interactive projects, students learn how mental health affects their thoughts, feelings, relationships, and actions—and how to care for it.

🎯 Program Goals:

📚 What Students Will Learn:

🧠 Sample Activities:

  • Build self-awareness and emotional intelligence.

  • Reduce stigma around mental health by normalizing conversations.

  • Equip students with practical tools for managing stress and big emotions.

  • Promote empathy, respectful communication, and positive peer relationships.

  • Encourage self-care, help-seeking, and supportive community-building.

Students will:

  • Understand what mental health is and why it matters in daily life.

➤ Encourages open, stigma-free discussion.

4. Coping Skills Menu
