💻🛡️ Kind Online: Digital Defenders

🎒 An Afterschool Adventure for Ages 8–11

🧠 Smart Moves. Kind Words. Real Online Confidence.

Kids aren’t just playing online—they’re chatting, posting, gaming, and watching. And that means they need tools to stay safe, be kind, and know what to do when things go wrong. Kind Online: Digital Defenders is a creative, empowering afterschool program where kids explore how to stand up to cyberbullying, build healthy screen habits, and be awesome digital friends. Through games, role play, group projects, and creative expression, kids become Digital Defenders—ready to make the internet a kinder, safer place for everyone.

🧭 How It Works

Each week, students take on a new “Digital Mission” to build confidence, empathy, and real-world skills through:

💬 Digital Citizenship Foundations
Explore topics like online identity, privacy, kindness, empathy, and what cyberbullying really looks like.

🧠 Problem Solving + Peer Dialogue
Think through real-life scenarios and work in teams to build solutions and responses.

🎨 Creative Expression
Use media, posters, and group projects to turn digital values into real-world action.

🌱 5E Learning Model
Engage → Explore → Explain → Elaborate → Elevate—through movement, creation, and discussion.

All in a welcoming, age-appropriate space where students can be themselves—and lead with kindness.

🛠️ Sample Missions

Each week, Digital Defenders dive into a new challenge or creative task that brings online issues to life:

📱 What Would You Do?
Explore common cyberbullying scenarios in games and role plays. Learn how to respond safely and with empathy.

🎭 Online Drama Theater
Act out mini skits showing how digital conflict can start—and how to turn things around.

🎨 Post with Positivity
Design pretend posts, memes, or messages that spread kindness online. Create a class “Kind Feed” bulletin board.

🕵️ Decode the Digital Clues
Play detective and examine fake posts or screenshots to spot meanness, misinformation, or risky behavior.

🔐 Safety First Challenge
Complete tasks related to privacy settings, passwords, and “think before you click” decision-making.

🧠 Emoji Debate
Explore digital tone and how miscommunication happens in text-only spaces. Practice using emojis and clarifying messages with kindness.

🎉 Digital Defender Showcase

At the end of the program, families are invited to the Digital Defender Showcase, where students:

🎤 Share skits, videos, or posters
