🎒 An Afterschool Adventure for Ages 8–11

Kids ages 8–11 are navigating a world full of change—inside and out.
Friendships grow more complex. School feels more demanding. Emotions feel bigger and harder to name.
​ Mind Masters is a fun, empowering afterschool program where kids build emotional resilience, learn healthy coping skills, and grow into confident, compassionate leaders of their own mental well-being. Because mental health isn’t just about fixing problems—it’s about building strength from the inside out.

 

🧭 How It Works

Each session blends movement, mindfulness, creativity, and connection through:

💡 Emotional Intelligence: Helping kids recognize, name, and manage their emotions in real time.

🛠️ Coping Skills Toolbox: Breathing techniques, grounding games, journaling, and movement for calming anxious minds and bodies.

🧠 Mental Health Literacy: Understanding what stress, anxiety, and sadness are—and what to do when we feel them.

🌀 Mind-Body Connection: Exploring how nutrition, sleep, movement, and tech use affect mood and focus.

💬 Peer Connection: Group check-ins, empathy-building games, and safe spaces to share real feelings without judgment.

🛠️ Sample Missions

Mind Masters take on practical, creative missions like:

🌀 Calm-Down Command Center: Design and decorate personal “calm kits” with stress balls, affirmations, fidgets, and breathing cards.

📓 Mind Journals: Write or draw weekly reflections using prompts like “Today I felt…” or “When I’m stressed, I can…”

🧱 The Worry Wall: Build a paper “brick wall” of common worries—and knock it down with tools and strategies that help.

🎭 Drama for the Mind: Act out real-life social or emotional challenges, then role-play healthy ways to respond.

🧠 Mood Science Lab: Explore how things like sleep, hydration, and screen time impact how we feel—and run mini “experiments” on how to reset.

 

🎉 Mind Masters Showcase

At the end of the program, families are invited to a Mind Masters Showcase, where students:

🎤 Present projects like their Calm Kits or Worry Wall
🎨 Display expressive art or journal entries (optional + confidential)
💬 Share “power phrases” or affirmations they’ve created
🎓 Receive a Mind Master Certificate + recognition for their emotional growth

🎁 Take-Home Kits

Each student receives a Mind Master Toolbelt including:

🌬️ Breathing & calming technique cards
📒 A customizable “My Mind Journal”
🌀 Fidget or sensory tool
🎨 DIY calm jar or worry stone materials
💬 Family conversation cards for mental health check-ins
